For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein expressed on the surface of mature monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils.
It functions as a multifunctional lipopolysaccharide (LPS) receptor and exists both as a membrane-bound and soluble form. CD14 binds LPS in a reaction catalyzed by lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP), an acute-phase serum protein.
Soluble CD14 (sCD14) can distinguish structural variations in LPS and plays a role in neutralizing serum LPS via lipoprotein particles.
CD14 also binds apoptotic cells and is involved in allergic, inflammatory, and infectious processes.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same CD14 isoform.
Diseases associated with CD14 dysfunction include Mycobacterium chelonae infection and croup.
