Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein expressed on mature monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils.
It functions as a multifunctional lipopolysaccharide receptor and exists in both membrane-bound and soluble forms.
CD14 binds lipopolysaccharides in a reaction catalyzed by lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP), contributing to immune response regulation.
Soluble CD14 (sCD14) can detect structural differences in lipopolysaccharides and aids in neutralization of foreign endotoxins.
Additionally, CD14 interacts with apoptotic cells and influences allergic, inflammatory, and infectious processes.
Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants encoding the same isoform.
Malfunctions in CD14 are linked to mycobacterium chelonae infection and croup.
