Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
GK2 (Glycerol kinase 2), also known as GKP2 or GKTA, is a 553 amino acid protein belonging to the FGGY kinase family. It participates in glycerol degradation and is localized to the outer mitochondrial membrane. GK2 is highly expressed in testis and catalyzes the ATP-dependent conversion of glycerol to glycerol 3-phosphate, playing a critical role in glycerol uptake and metabolism.
