Target Information
Copper is an essential trace element required for oxygen-utilizing organisms. CTR2 is a membrane protein belonging to the SLC31A transporter family. Although its precise function in mammalian cells is not fully understood, CTR2 is believed to be involved in low-affinity copper uptake. It is mainly localized to lysosomes, facilitating copper delivery to the cytosol under high copper concentrations.
