Product Specific Information
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed) samples:
Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
The Major Vault Protein (MVP) gene encodes a lung resistance-related protein that forms part of multi-subunit vault structures, potentially involved in nucleo-cytoplasmic transport. MVP mediates drug resistance, possibly via a transport mechanism. It is widely distributed in normal tissues and overexpressed in multidrug-resistant cancer cells. Overexpression of MVP can serve as a marker for clinical drug resistance.
This gene produces two transcripts using alternative exon 2 sequences, but both yield identical open reading frames.
