Product Specific Information

MA5-15896 targets MAPK3 in indirect ELISA, FACS, IF, IHC, and WB applications and shows reactivity with human, mouse, non-human primate, and rat samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human MAPK3 expressed in E. coli.
MA5-15896 detects MAPK3, which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 44 kDa.


Target Information

MAPK3 (ERK1) is a serine/threonine kinase that acts as an important activator of p90, RSK, MSK, ELK1, and Stat3, and plays a key role in the MAPK pathway.
ERK1 is widely expressed and regulates meiosis, mitosis, and post-mitotic functions in differentiated cells.
It is activated by various stimuli such as growth factors, cytokines, viral infection, GPCR ligands, and transforming agents.
Functionally, ERK1 participates in signaling cascades controlling proliferation, differentiation, and cell cycle progression in response to extracellular signals.
Upon activation, ERK1 translocates to the nucleus to phosphorylate nuclear targets.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms of ERK1 have been identified.
