Target Information
MIF (macrophage migration inhibitory factor)는 최초로 발견된 사이토카인 중 하나로, T 세포에서 분비되어 대식세포의 무작위 이동을 억제하는 인자로 처음 보고되었습니다 (Weiser 1989). 이후 MIF는 뇌하수체 호르몬으로서 면역계 내에서 글루코코르티코이드 작용에 대한 역조절 호르몬으로 재발견되었습니다 (Bernhagen 1993, Mitchell 1995). MIF는 생리적 농도의 글루코코르티코이드에 반응하여 대식세포와 T 세포로부터 분비되며, 분비된 MIF는 면역세포 활성화 및 사이토카인 생성에 대한 스테로이드의 면역억제 효과를 상쇄합니다 (Bucala 1998). 따라서 MIF는 염증 및 면역 조절에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
