MCM2 (Mini Chromosome Maintenance Protein 2)
MCM2 is a nuclear protein involved in the regulation of DNA replication and cell cycle progression. It is also known as CDCL1, mitotin, and BM28. MCM2 is part of the early S-phase protein family and is mapped to chromosome 3q21. Due to its chromosomal location, CDCL1 has been considered a potential oncogene implicated in chromosomal breaks observed in acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
