Target Information
MCM2 (Mini Chromosome Maintenance Protein 2) is involved in regulating DNA replication. Also known as CDCL1, mitotin, and BM28, MCM2 is a nuclear protein crucial for the onset of DNA replication and cell division. It belongs to the family of early S-phase proteins and is mapped to chromosome 3q21. Due to its localization, CDCL1 is considered a candidate oncogene affected by chromosomal breaks in acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
