The Total Antioxidant Capacity (T-AOC) Colorimetric Assay Kit is a highly reliable and sensitive assay designed for the quantitative measurement of total antioxidant capacity in serum, plasma, whole blood, tissue, cells, and culture supernatant.

T-AOC represents the overall ability of a biological sample to counteract oxidative stress by neutralizing reactive oxygen species (ROS) and other harmful free radicals. It reflects the combined effect of enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidants within the sample.

This assay quantifies the ability of the sample to reduce ferric ions (Fe³⁺) to ferrous ions (Fe²⁺) using a phenanthroline compound. The resulting complex exhibits a characteristic absorbance at 520 nm, which is directly proportional to the T-AOC of the sample.
