Target Information
Adropin is involved in the regulation of glucose homeostasis and lipid metabolism. It is a secreted protein encoded by the Energy Homeostasis Associated (ENHO) gene found in the brain and liver. In the liver, the protein increases in response to high-fat foods and decreases after fasting. It plays a role in controlling the activity of other metabolic genes, particularly those involved in lipid synthesis from carbohydrates.
