For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

COX2 converts arachidonate to prostaglandin H2 (PGH2), a key step in prostanoid synthesis, including inflammatory prostaglandins.
This conversion involves two reactions:

1. Cyclooxygenase (COX) reaction – converts arachidonate to prostaglandin G2 (PGG2)
2. Peroxidase reaction – reduces PGG2 to prostaglandin H2 (PGH2)

COX2 is constitutively expressed in certain tissues (endothelium, kidney, brain) and up-regulated under pathological conditions such as cancer and inflammation.
Up-regulation is associated with increased cell adhesion, phenotypic changes, apoptosis resistance, and tumor angiogenesis.
In cancer cells, COX2 is essential for prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) production, influencing motility, proliferation, and apoptosis resistance.
COX2 is naturally inhibited by calcitriol (active Vitamin D) and transcriptionally repressed by glucocorticoids.
It is a known target of NSAIDs such as aspirin, which reduce inflammation-associated pain and swelling.
