Target Information
The protein encoded by the DCTD gene catalyzes the deamination of dCMP to dUMP, the nucleotide substrate for thymidylate synthase. It is allosterically activated by dCTP and inhibited by dTTP, functioning as a homohexamer and utilizing zinc as a cofactor. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
