Product Specific Information
- Reconstitute with 1 mL of distilled water.
- After reconstitution, store product undiluted at 4°C in the dark.
- For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10^6 cells in 100 µL.
- Mouse anti-Human CD14 antibody, clone UCHM1 recognizes a cell surface antigen of approximately 55 kDa, known as CD14.
Target Information
CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein constitutively expressed on mature monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It functions as a multifunctional lipopolysaccharide receptor and exists in both membrane-bound and soluble forms.
CD14 binds lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in a reaction catalyzed by LPS-binding protein (LBP), aiding in neutralization of serum LPS. Soluble CD14 (sCD14) can discriminate structural variations between LPS molecules and plays roles in inflammatory and infectious processes.
CD14 also binds apoptotic cells and is implicated in allergic and inflammatory responses. Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants encoding the same CD14 isoform.
Diseases associated with CD14 dysfunction include Mycobacterium chelonae infection and Croup.
