RNASET2는 Rh/T2/S-glycoprotein 계열의 세포외 리보뉴클레이스에 속하는 새로운 단백질로, 인간 염색체 6q27 영역에 위치합니다. 이 영역은 종양 발생 및 염색체 재배열과 관련이 있으며, RNASET2는 종양 억제 단백질로 기능할 가능성이 제시되었습니다.
HTLV-1 감염 세포에서 RNASET2 발현은 HTLV-1 Tax 단백질이 RNASET2 프로모터에 결합함으로써 억제되며, 이는 ATL(성인 T세포 백혈병) 발병에 관여할 수 있습니다.
