Target Information
Medea는 초파리(Drosophila melanogaster)에서 발견된 유전자로, 최초로 확인된 두 개의 Smad 유전자 중 하나입니다. 이 유전자의 이름은 모계 효과 치사(maternal effect lethality) 현상에 기반하여 명명되었습니다. Medea와 Mothers against dpp는 decapentaplegic 이형접합체 자손의 치사를 유발하는 모계 효과 돌연변이를 탐색하는 유전학적 스크린에서 식별되었습니다.
