Target Information
TWEAK is a member of the TNF family and was first described as a weak inducer of apoptosis. A receptor for TWEAK, known as TweakR, was isolated by expression cloning from a HUVEC cell cDNA library. TweakR belongs to the TNF receptor superfamily and can initiate proliferative signaling by binding to TRAF1, TRAF2, and TRAF3. TweakR mRNA is upregulated during tissue regeneration in the aorta and liver and may play roles in vascular cell migration and angiogenesis.
