Target Information
Caspase 2 유전자는 cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) 패밀리에 속하는 단백질을 암호화합니다. Caspase의 연속적 활성화는 세포 사멸(apoptosis)의 실행 단계에서 중심적인 역할을 합니다. Caspase는 비활성 전구체(proenzyme) 형태로 존재하며, 특정 aspartic 잔기에서 절단되어 큰 소단위체와 작은 소단위체를 형성하고, 이들이 이합체를 이루어 활성 효소를 형성합니다. 다양한 세포 사멸 자극에 의해 이 단백질의 절단이 유도됩니다. 대체 스플라이싱으로 인해 여러 전사체 변이체가 생성되어 서로 다른 이소폼을 암호화합니다.
