Target Information
Liver X receptors (LXRA and LXRB) are members of the nuclear receptor superfamily and regulate macrophage function, lipid homeostasis, and inflammation.
LXRA is highly expressed in liver, adrenal gland, intestine, adipose tissue, macrophages, lung, and kidney, whereas LXRB is ubiquitously expressed.
Ligand-activated LXRs form heterodimers with retinoid X receptors and regulate genes containing LXR response elements.
