Target Information
TSH Receptor gene encodes a membrane protein that controls thyroid cell metabolism. It acts as a receptor for thyrothropin and thyrostimulin, with activity mediated by adenylate cyclase. Mutations in this gene are linked to several forms of hyperthyroidism. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
