Rabbit anti-DNA PKcs antibody recognizes the human DNA-dependent protein kinase catalytic subunit, also known as DNA-PKcs, DNPK1, or p460.
Target Information
DNA-PK is a heterotrimeric, DNA-dependent protein kinase that initiates signaling cascades in response to DNA damage. It is an atypical kinase closely related to PI3 kinases and can be inhibited by small molecules targeting PI3 kinases.
DNA-PK encodes a component of the mediator complex, a transcriptional coactivator complex required for the expression of most genes. The mediator complex is recruited by transcriptional activators or nuclear receptors to induce gene expression, possibly by interacting with RNA polymerase II and promoting pre-initiation complex formation.
Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for DNA-PK.
