Target Information

TTLL4 is a glutamylase that preferentially modifies beta-tubulin and non-tubulin proteins such as NAP1L1, NAP1L4, and CGAS.
It participates in the side-chain initiation step of polyglutamylation, forming short side-chains.
TTLL4 mediates initiation of polyglutamylation of nucleosome assembly proteins NAP1L1 and NAP1L4.
It also acts as a monoglutamylase, generating monoglutamylation of CGAS, which impairs the nucleotidyltransferase activity of CGAS.
