Target Information
The hnRNP K gene encodes a member of the heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs) family, which are RNA-binding proteins associated with pre-mRNAs in the nucleus. These proteins influence pre-mRNA processing, mRNA metabolism, and transport. hnRNP K is located in the nucleoplasm, containing three KH domains that bind RNAs, particularly poly(C) sequences. It may play a role in cell cycle progression. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified.
