Antibody detects endogenous levels of total MAFK.
Target Information
Small Maf proteins lack a putative transactivation domain and act as transcriptional repressors when forming homodimers. However, they can serve as transcriptional activators by forming heterodimers with larger basic-zipper proteins, recruiting them to specific DNA-binding sites. Small Maf proteins also heterodimerize with Fos and may act as competitive repressors of the NF-E2 transcription factor.
