Target Information
Retinoic Acid (RA), the active metabolite of vitamin A, plays a key role in regulating the transition of proliferating precursor cells into postmitotic differentiated cells. The Retinoid X Receptor (RXR) family (α, β, γ) preferentially binds 9-cis-RA and regulates gene transcription by forming heterodimers with Retinoic Acid Receptors (RARs).
RA signaling is implicated in neuronal development, synaptic plasticity, learning, memory, and may have potential therapeutic roles in cervical cancer.
