Target Information
Lin28 is a transcription factor first identified for its role in developmental timing in C. elegans. It plays a key role in stem cell biology and has been used in generating induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells by co-expression with transcription factors such as POU5F1, Sox2, and NANOG.
Recent studies show that iPS cells can be generated using expression plasmids for Lin28, Sox2, POU5F1, and c-Myc, avoiding viral introduction and improving safety for regenerative medicine applications.
