This antibody has specificity for Human Carbonic Anhydrase III (CA3).
Target Information
Carbonic anhydrase III (CAIII) is a member of a multigene family that encodes carbonic anhydrase isozymes, a class of metalloenzymes catalyzing the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. These enzymes are differentially expressed across cell types.
CA3 expression is tissue-specific, found at high levels in skeletal muscle and lower levels in cardiac and smooth muscle. Some carriers of Duchenne muscular dystrophy exhibit elevated CA3 levels. The CA3 gene spans 10.3 kb and contains seven exons and six introns.
