Target Information
Polycomb group (PcG) 단백질은 다중 단백질 복합체를 형성하여, 발생 과정 전반에 걸쳐 유전자 전사 억제 상태를 유지하는 역할을 합니다.
PHC1 (polyhomeotic homolog 1, EDR1, HPH1, RAE28로도 알려짐)은 1,004 아미노산으로 구성된 핵 단백질로, PcG 다단백질 복합체 PRC1의 구성 요소입니다.
PRC1 복합체는 히스톤 변형, 크로마틴 재구성, 히스톤 H2A의 단일 유비퀴틴화를 매개합니다.
이 복합체에는 Mel-18, Bmi-1, M33, MPc2, MPc3, RING1, Ring1b 등의 단백질이 포함됩니다.
PHC1은 FCS-type zinc finger와 SAM (sterile alpha motif) 도메인을 가지며, 인간 염색체 12번에 위치한 유전자에 의해 암호화됩니다. 이 염색체는 약 1,100개의 유전자를 포함하고 전체 유전체의 약 4.5%를 차지합니다.
