Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to a family containing conserved PDZ and LIM domains. LIM domains mediate protein-protein interactions in processes such as gene transcription, development, and cytoskeletal organization. The LIM domains bind protein kinases, while the PDZ domain binds actin filaments. This protein participates in forming an actin filament-associated complex essential for mitogenic signaling and functions as an adapter localizing LIM-binding proteins to actin filaments in muscle and nonmuscle tissues. Alternative splicing generates multiple transcript variants.
