Target Information
The PDE1B protein belongs to the cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (PDE) family, specifically the PDE1 subfamily. Members of this family are calmodulin-dependent PDEs activated by the calcium-calmodulin complex. PDE1B exhibits dual specificity for cAMP and cGMP, with a preference for cGMP as a substrate. These cyclic nucleotides regulate numerous physiological processes. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
