Target Information
STING (TMEM173) is a 379 amino acid signaling protein that plays a crucial role in innate immune signaling. It activates NF-κB and IRF3 transcription pathways, inducing type I interferons (IFN-α, IFN-β) and antiviral responses. STING may also function as a translocon, influencing interferon induction and apoptotic signaling through interaction with MHC-II. It is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, cell membrane, and mitochondrial outer membrane, and is ubiquitously expressed in most tissues.
