For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Protein p21 (CDKN1A) is a tumor suppressor protein that inhibits cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) and is transcriptionally activated by p53.
It plays a critical role in the cellular response to genotoxic stress and acts as a major transcriptional target of p53.
In the nucleus, p21 binds and inhibits Cdk1 and Cdk2, blocking cell cycle progression from G1 to S phase or G2 to mitosis after DNA damage, allowing DNA repair.
In the cytoplasm, p21 has anti-apoptotic effects by binding and inhibiting caspase 3, ASK1, and JNK.
p21 exhibits dual roles in carcinogenesis, functioning as a tumor suppressor and, under certain conditions, as an oncogene.
