Target Information
Kallikreins, including Kallikrein 6, are a subgroup of serine proteases with diverse physiological functions. Many kallikreins are implicated in carcinogenesis and have potential as novel cancer and disease biomarkers. The KLK6 enzyme is regulated by steroid hormones and has been found to generate amyloidogenic fragments from the amyloid precursor protein, suggesting involvement in Alzheimer’s disease.
