Product Specific Information

Percent identity with other species by BLAST analysis:

  • Human, Gorilla (100%)
  • Gibbon (95%)
  • Monkey (90%)
  • Bat, Elephant (85%)
  • Horse, Rabbit, Guinea pig (80%)

For IHC(P), use heat-induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen.

Target Information

BRS3 expression has been reported in lung (normal and cancer), nasal mucosa, placenta, and uterus. ESTs have been isolated from normal brain and kidney cancer libraries.
G-protein Coupled Receptors (GPCRs) comprise one of the largest families of signaling molecules with more than a thousand members predicted to exist. All GPCRs share a structural motif consisting of seven membrane-spanning helices and exist in both active and inactive forms.
Activating ligands induce conformational changes leading to signaling via G-proteins and downstream effectors. Studies show complex mechanisms of negative regulation (“turn-off” activity) influencing cellular physiology and driving pharmacological research for new drug candidates.
Notable GPCR-targeted drugs include Zyprexa (Eli Lilly) and Claritin (Schering-Plough).
