Target Information

BRS3 expression has been reported in lung (normal and cancer), nasal mucosa, placenta, and uterus. ESTs have been isolated from normal brain and kidney cancer libraries.

G-protein Coupled Receptors (GPCRs) constitute one of the largest families of signaling molecules, sharing a structural motif of seven membrane-spanning helices and existing in both active and inactive forms. Activation involves ligand-induced conformational changes leading to G-protein signaling and downstream effects. Regulation of GPCR activity plays critical roles in cellular physiology and pharmacological research, with several GPCR-targeted drugs achieving major clinical and commercial success.
