Target Information
The TMPRSS4 gene encodes a member of the serine protease family, involved in diverse biological processes. Malfunction of serine proteases can lead to human diseases. TMPRSS4 is overexpressed in pancreatic carcinoma and encodes a membrane-bound protein with an N-terminal anchor and a glycosylated extracellular region containing the serine protease domain. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
