- Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
- The peptide is homologous with the corresponding sequence derived from OMP protein in mouse.
- Specificity: Highly specific for mature olfactory neurons (including axon and terminals).
Target Information
Olfactory marker protein (OMP) is an abundant, 19-kDa, cytosolic protein expressed almost exclusively in mature, functioning olfactory neurons, but not in precursor basal cells. The OMP gene and protein sequence are highly conserved among mouse, rat, and human. Its tissue-specific expression and knockout studies indicate that OMP acts as a modulatory component of odor detection and signal transduction. It may interact with BEX1 and BEX2 and is uniquely associated with mature olfactory receptor neurons. Belongs to the olfactory marker protein family.
