Target Information
RIPK3 is a member of the receptor-interacting protein (RIP) family of serine/threonine kinases, containing a unique C-terminal domain. It is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm and mitochondria, capable of nucleocytoplasmic shuttling.
RIPK3 participates in TNF receptor-I signaling, can induce apoptosis, and weakly activate NF-kappaB. Caspase-8 prevents RIPK3-dependent necrosis by forming a proteolytically active complex with CFLAR, which is essential for its protective function.
