Target Information
PAK4 is a serine/threonine p21-activated kinase involved in actin cytoskeleton reorganization and filopodia formation. It belongs to the second group of PAKs (PAK4, 5, and 6), which are not activated by Cdc42/Rac binding. PAK4 acts as an effector of Cdc42Hs, inducing filopodia and actin polymerization, and plays a key role in cytoskeletal organization, embryonic viability, and neuronal development. It is also implicated in tumor cell growth and activation of cancer prosurvival pathways.
