Target Information
MAGT1 encodes a magnesium cation transporter protein localized to the cell membrane. It associates with N-oligosaccharyl transferase and may play a role in N-glycosylation. Mutations in this gene cause mental retardation X-linked type 95 (MRX95). Multiple in-frame translation initiation sites may produce shorter protein variants with an N-terminal signal peptide (amino acids 1–29).
