The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
MMP15 (matrix metallopeptidase 15), also known as MT2-MMP, is a membrane-type matrix metalloproteinase capable of degrading components of the extracellular matrix. It is encoded by the MMP15 gene located on chromosome 16q12.2.
This enzyme is a type I transmembrane protein composed of a signal peptide, propeptide, catalytic domain, hemopexin-like domain, transmembrane domain, and cytoplasmic tail.
Cleavage of the propeptide at Tyr132 is essential for activation and regulation of its proteolytic activity, influencing physiological and pathological processes such as tissue remodeling, cancer progression, and metastasis.
MMP15 expression levels correlate with disease states and can modulate cancer cell invasion and angiogenesis through extracellular matrix modification.
