Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They consist of multiple recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity and consistency of monoclonal antibodies.
These antibodies recognize multiple epitopes on the target, providing higher detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets. Each lot is produced with a known mixture of light and heavy chains, eliminating biological variability typical of polyclonal antibody production.

Target Information
IL-33 (Interleukin-33) is a 270 amino acid protein of the IL-1 family with an IL-1-like C-terminal domain. It functions as both a proinflammatory cytokine and an intracellular nuclear factor with transcriptional regulatory properties.
IL-33 binds to IL1RL1/ST2 and activates signaling pathways involving MYD88, IRAK1, IRAK4, and TRAF6, leading to NF-κB and MAP kinase activation. It drives TH2 cytokine production (IL-4, IL-5, IL-13) and causes pathological changes in mucosal organs.
IL-33 is expressed in high endothelial venules of tonsils, Peyer’s patches, and mesenteric lymph nodes, but is nearly absent in placenta. It can co-localize with heterochromatin and act as a transcriptional repressor, indicating dual functionality as cytokine and nuclear factor.
Despite its predicted molecular weight, IL-33 often migrates at a higher molecular weight in SDS-PAGE.
