For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).

Target Information

The progesterone receptor (PR) is a member of the steroid family of nuclear receptors. It mediates the physiological effects of progesterone, which plays a central role in reproductive events such as pregnancy establishment and maintenance.
PR exists as two forms: a 94 kDa protein (Form A) and a 120 kDa protein (Form B) due to alternative translation initiation sites.

• PR-B: Transcriptionally active form, responsible for endometrial maintenance and inhibition of ovulation.
• PR-A: Identical to PR-B except for a 165 amino acid deletion at the N-terminus, exposing an inhibitory domain that represses steroid hormone transcriptional activity.

In its inactive state, PgR forms a multiprotein complex including heat shock proteins and immunophilins. Binding of progesterone induces conformational change, enabling dimerization and binding to progesterone response elements (PRE), activating transcription.
Null mutation in the PGR gene leads to reproductive abnormalities.
