Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells respond to thermal and chemical stress by inducing heat shock genes. In eukaryotes, transcription of these genes is regulated mainly by heat shock transcription factors (HSF1 and HSF2).
HSF1 and HSF2 are upregulated by estrogen at both mRNA and protein levels. HSF1 forms trimers upon activation, gains DNA binding activity, and translocates to the nucleus.
HSF2 activity is associated with differentiation and development, binding DNA as a trimer similarly to HSF1. Both are induced by proteasome inhibitors of the ubiquitin pathway.
