Description:
The eBioHMb1-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and rat CD29 (Integrin β1), a 110–120 kDa member of the β integrin family expressed by leukocytes, endothelial, smooth muscle, and epithelial cells. CD29 forms heterodimers with α integrins (CD49a–f) to create VLA-1 through VLA-6 complexes and with CD51. These complexes mediate cell adhesion, migration, proliferation, and differentiation. CD29-containing integrins bind extracellular matrix proteins such as collagen, laminin, fibronectin, and vitronectin, and can also interact with receptors like VCAM-1 and MadCAM-1.
Applications Reported:
Suitable for flow cytometry and immunoprecipitation. For functional assays, use Functional Grade purified eBioHMb1-1 (HMb1-1) (Product #16-0291-85).
Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse spleen, thymus, and bone marrow cells. Recommended ≤1 µg/test in 100 µL final volume. Optimize antibody concentration based on cell number (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

ITGB1 (Integrin Subunit Beta 1, CD29):
A 110 kDa cell surface glycoprotein expressed by various cell types including leukocytes and platelets. ITGB1 forms heterodimers with multiple α chains (α1–α6), determining binding specificity of β1 (VLA) integrins. It mediates adhesion to extracellular matrix proteins and is involved in immune cell trafficking, tissue remodeling, and inflammatory responses. Downregulation of ITGB1 has been linked to tumor cell drug resistance, while upregulation influences leukocyte migration and cytokine secretion in smooth muscle cells. Two major isoforms exist: β1A (ubiquitous) and β1D (cardiac and skeletal muscle).
