Target Information
Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Along with four core histone proteins, it binds to DNA forming the nucleosome structure. Histones are central to transcription regulation, DNA repair, DNA replication, and chromosomal stability. The N-terminal tail of histone H3 can undergo post-translational modifications such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, influencing chromatin structure and gene expression.
