Mouse anti-human CD14 antibody, clone TÜK4 recognizes the human CD14 cell surface antigen.
Target Information
CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein expressed on mature monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It functions as a lipopolysaccharide (LPS) receptor and exists in both membrane-bound and soluble forms. CD14 interacts with LPS-binding protein (LBP) to recognize bacterial components and plays a role in immune responses, including inflammation and infection. Soluble CD14 (sCD14) can differentiate subtle structural variations in LPS and contributes to neutralization mechanisms. CD14 also binds apoptotic cells and is associated with allergic, inflammatory, and infectious processes.
Diseases linked to CD14 dysfunction include Mycobacterium chelonae infection and Croup.
