Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs, less than 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse TACI and recombinant human BCMA is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
- Endotoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of the antibody by the LAL method.
Target Information
Members of the TNF superfamily regulate immune responses and induce apoptosis.
Two novel members, BAFF (also known as BLyS, TALL-1, THANK, zTNF4) and APRIL (also known as TALL-2), have been identified.
BAFF acts as a B cell activator, inducing proliferation and immunoglobulin secretion, while APRIL regulates both immunological and non-immunological cell growth.
Three receptors—BCMA, TACI, and BAFF-R—bind BAFF and APRIL.
TACI, like BCMA, regulates humoral immune responses, activates NF-κB and c-Jun N-terminal kinase, and is involved in B cell–associated autoimmune diseases.
