ABS 021-04-02 detects GIP in human samples.
It has been successfully used in ELISA and immunohistochemistry procedures.
Note: Concentration may vary slightly by lot (0.85–1.15 mg/mL).
Target Information
This gene encodes an incretin hormone belonging to the glucagon superfamily.
The encoded protein plays a key role in maintaining glucose homeostasis as a potent stimulator of insulin secretion from pancreatic beta-cells following food ingestion and nutrient absorption.
It stimulates insulin secretion via activation of adenylyl cyclase and other signaling pathways through its G protein-coupled receptor.
It is a relatively poor inhibitor of gastric acid secretion.
