Target Information
Expression of the midnolin gene is developmentally regulated and strongly expressed in the mesencephalon (midbrain) of E12.5 mouse embryos.
The midnolin protein (508 aa) contains a ubiquitin-like domain and is localized in the nucleus and nucleolus, not in the cytoplasm.
The nucleolar localization signal is a 28 aa peptide located at the C-terminal region of midnolin.
Midnolin may regulate genes related to neurogenesis in the nucleolus.
